Synchrotron Radiation from the Galactic Center in Decaying Dark Matter Scenario
نویسندگان
چکیده
We discuss the synchrotron radiation flux from the Galactic center in unstable dark matter scenario. Motivated by the anomalous excess of the positron fraction recently reported by the PAMELA collaboration, we consider the case that the dark matter particle is unstable (and long-lived), and that energetic electron and positron are produced by the decay of dark matter. Then, the emitted e± becomes the source of the synchrotron radiation. We calculate the synchrotron radiation flux for models of decaying dark matter, which can explain the PAMELA positron excess. Taking the lifetime of the dark matter of O(1026 sec), which is the suggested value to explain the PAMELA anomaly, the synchrotron radiation flux is found to be O(1 kJy/str) or smaller, depending on the particle-physics and cosmological parameters. Pamela and Atic Anomalies in Decaying Gravitino Dark Matter Scenario
Motivated by the recent results from the PAMELA and ATIC, we study the cosmic-ray electron and positron produced by the decay of gravitino dark matter. We calculate the cosmic-ray electron and positron fluxes and discuss implications to the PAMELA and ATIC data. In this paper, we will show that the observed anomalous fluxes by the PAMELA and ATIC can be explained in such a scenario. We will als...
متن کاملNeutralino Annihilation at the Galactic Center Revisited
The annihilation of neutralino dark matter in the Galactic Center (GC) may result in radio signals that can be used to detect or constrain the dark matter halo density profile or dark matter particle properties. At the Galactic Center, the accretion flow onto the central Black Hole (BH) sustains strong magnetic fields that can induce synchrotron emission by electrons and positrons generated in ...
متن کاملWMAP Microwave Emission Interpreted as Dark Matter Annihilation in the Inner Galaxy
Excess microwave emission observed in the inner Galaxy (inner ∼ 1 kpc) is consistent with synchrotron emission from highly relativistic ee pairs produced by dark matter particle annihilation. More conventional sources for this emission, such as free-free (thermal bremsstrahlung), thermal dust, spinning dust, and the softer Galactic synchrotron traced by low-frequency surveys, have been ruled ou...
متن کاملX-ray Radiation from the Annihilation of Dark Matter at the Galactic Center
The existing and upcoming multiwavelength data from the Galactic Center suggest a comparative study in order to propose or rule out possible models which would explain the observations. In this paper we consider the X-ray synchrotron and the gamma-ray emission due to Kaluza Klein Dark Matter and define a set of parameters for the shape of the Dark Matter halo which is consistent with the observ...
متن کاملDetecting Gamma-Ray Anisotropies from Decaying Dark Matter: Prospects for Fermi LAT
Decaying dark matter particles could be indirectly detected as an excess over a simple power law in the energy spectrum of the diffuse extragalactic gamma-ray background. Furthermore, since the Earth is not located at the center of the Galactic dark matter halo, the exotic contribution from dark matter decay to the diffuse gamma-ray flux is expected to be anisotropic, offering a complementary m...
